In his illustrious career so far, at a global level, Josef has led many major initiatives, including the formulation and implementation of the multi-domestic regionalization concept, the global restructuring of ANDRITZ Hydro field service activities, parametrization and standardization of mid-size generators, global IT delivery security center and many more. All these initiatives have contributed significantly to the risk minimization and profit maximization in ANDRITZ Hydro.

Asia is one of the key markets for Andritz Hydro as more than one third of the order intakes of the ANDRITZ Hydro Group comes from Asia. However, Asia was not always booming. During the Asian Crisis of 1997 – 2002, Josef was the Regional Chairman of VATECH Asia (India, China, SEA, and ANZ) tasked to streamline and consolidate the business structure in the region from 68 to 22 subsidiaries. By shifting the regional focus to the core components combined with national presence in marketing, sales, and project implementation, he was able to complete this task within 16 months with increasing order intakes and profitability.
